1. Introduction
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the services provided by WLKNSN bv ("we", "us", "our"), a company registered in Belgium, operating under the brand name AFD Institute. By accessing or using our website at afdinstitute.com, the learning portal, or any related services (collectively, the "Services"), you agree to be bound by these Terms.
If you do not agree with these Terms, you must not use the Services.
2. Service Description
AFD Institute provides the following services:
- Online certification programme: structured learning paths across four tiers — Practitioner, Professional, Leader, and Trainer
- Learning portal: course content, quizzes, progress tracking, and certification management
- Book sales: the official Adaptive Flow Delivery publication in print and digital formats
- Workshops and events: keynotes, executive briefings, half-day, full-day, and multi-day training sessions
- Consulting services: advisory, pilot coaching, and organisational adoption support
- AFD Knowledge MCP: a free, registration-gated Model Context Protocol server (mcp.afdinstitute.com) that lets an AI assistant query the methodology and optionally contribute a case — governed by separate MCP Terms of Use
3. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years of age to use the Services. If you are under 18, you may only use the Services with the involvement and consent of a parent or legal guardian who agrees to be bound by these Terms.
4. Account Registration
To access certain features of the Services, you must create an account. You agree to:
- Provide accurate, current, and complete information during registration
- Maintain and promptly update your account information
- Keep your password secure and confidential
- Accept responsibility for all activity that occurs under your account
- Notify us immediately at hello@afdinstitute.com if you suspect unauthorised access
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or that we reasonably believe have been compromised.
5. Payment Terms
All prices are quoted in euros (EUR) and include VAT where applicable. Payments are processed securely by Mollie (our EU payment processor). We accept major credit and debit cards, Bancontact, iDEAL, and SEPA.
- Payment is due at the time of purchase
- You will receive an invoice via email for every transaction
- For business purchases, please provide your VAT number during checkout for reverse-charge invoicing where applicable
- We reserve the right to adjust prices; any changes will not affect existing purchases or active subscriptions
6. Right of Withdrawal
In accordance with the EU Consumer Rights Directive 2011/83/EU, you have the right to withdraw from a purchase within 14 days of the date of purchase, without giving any reason.
6.1 Exceptions to the right of withdrawal
The right of withdrawal does not apply in the following cases:
- Digital content: Once you access digital course content, the withdrawal right is waived, provided you gave prior explicit consent to begin access and acknowledged the loss of your right of withdrawal at the time of purchase.
- Fully performed services: If a service (such as a workshop) has been fully performed within the 14-day withdrawal period, the withdrawal right ceases to apply, provided you gave prior consent.
6.2 How to exercise your right of withdrawal
To withdraw, send a clear statement to hello@afdinstitute.com within 14 days of your purchase. We will process your refund within 14 days of receiving your request, using the same payment method used for the original transaction.

7. Certification
AFD Institute offers four certification tiers, each with specific validity periods and renewal requirements:
- Practitioner: valid for 3 years from the date of issue
- Professional: valid for 3 years from the date of issue
- Leader: valid for 2 years from the date of issue
- Trainer: valid for 1 year; requires annual renewal
Renewal requires meeting the continuing professional development (CPD) requirements specified for each tier at the time of renewal. We reserve the right to update renewal requirements with reasonable notice.
Certifications may be revoked if obtained through fraud, misrepresentation, or violation of these Terms. Certified individuals may use the relevant AFD certification mark in accordance with our brand guidelines.
8. Intellectual Property
The Adaptive Flow Delivery methodology, all course content, the AFD Institute brand, logos, and associated trademarks are the exclusive property of WLKNSN bv. All rights are reserved.
- You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works from our content without written permission
- Course materials are licensed for your personal, non-commercial use only
- You may not share login credentials or distribute course content to third parties
- The AFD certification marks may only be used by currently certified individuals, in accordance with our usage guidelines
9. Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- Use the Services for any unlawful purpose
- Attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of the Services
- Interfere with or disrupt the integrity or performance of the Services
- Upload malicious code, viruses, or harmful content
- Impersonate another person or misrepresent your affiliation
- Use automated tools to scrape, crawl, or extract content from the Services
- Share, resell, or redistribute course content or certification materials
10. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law:
- The Services are provided "as is" and "as available". We make no warranties, express or implied, regarding the availability, accuracy, or fitness for a particular purpose of the Services.
- WLKNSN bv shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of or related to your use of the Services.
- Our total aggregate liability for any claims arising from your use of the Services shall not exceed the amount you paid to us in the 12 months preceding the claim.
- Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or any other liability that cannot be excluded by law.
11. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless WLKNSN bv, its officers, directors, and employees from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses (including legal fees) arising from your violation of these Terms or misuse of the Services.
12. Termination
You may close your account at any time by contacting us at hello@afdinstitute.com.
We may suspend or terminate your access to the Services if you breach these Terms, subject to reasonable notice where practicable. Upon termination, your right to access course content ceases, but provisions relating to intellectual property, limitation of liability, and governing law survive.
13. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Belgium, without regard to conflict of law principles. This choice of law does not deprive you of mandatory consumer protections available under the law of your country of residence.
14. Dispute Resolution
Any disputes arising from or relating to these Terms shall be submitted to the competent courts of Belgium. If you are a consumer residing in the EU, you may also bring proceedings in the courts of your country of residence.

15. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via email or a prominent notice on our website at least 30 days before they take effect. Your continued use of the Services after changes become effective constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
16. Severability
If any provision of these Terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect.
